Bespoke (2013)

The project explores ideas relating to dress codes, identity and a sense of belonging. as a practice of maintaining their Englishness, when the British established themselves as the rulers of india, theyconstructed systems and codes of conduct, which separated and distanced themselves, physically, socially, and culturally from their indian counterparts. Bespoke foregrounds a triple displacement for the protagonist, resplendent in his bespoke suit, promenading with his purebred greyhound in the australian landscape. Unsure anymore of his position and place in the world, he seeks acknowledgement from across the globe while at the same time recognizing that the very thing, which he resents is the very thing he perhaps desires.
